International Women in Engineering Day

#INWED17 is a day to celebrate the success of women in what is still very much a male dominated career space.

As a profession that still struggles with encouraging females into the industry and then to retain them throughout their career, IWED pushes barriers and challenges the perception of the title Engineer.

We, as an industry, are getting better, but there is still a long way to go.  Whilst gender should not be viewed as more important than ability, unless engineering is seen by females as an exciting, rewarding and welcoming career prospect, there will always be a need for days such as this.

We look forward to the day when we celebrate engineering, no longer having to refer to gender.  But in the meantime….. let’s celebrate!

Senior Environmental Scientist – Kerry Jones

GB Card & Partners welcomes back Kerry Jones into the role of Senior Environmental Scientist.

We are delighted to announce that Kerry has re-joined us after spending 3 months travelling throughout Australia and Asia. Kerry has a background in the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites in both the UK and Western Australia, particularly with regards to hydrocarbon contamination.

GB Card & Partners has developed strong working relationships in Australasia providing expertise to Regulators and Consultants in the region; Kerry will once again be providing environmental solutions to both our global and domestic clients from our UK base.


Major development in Kent over historic landfill

GB Card & Partners has been assisting one of their developer clients over a number of years to bring what was considered to be ‘an undevelopable site’ back into use.  Provision of pre-purchase technical support, assisting in obtaining planning permission and undertaking design work has seen the commencement of the construction of a landmark residential development and primary school.
