Past, Present and Future…
On June 11th 2019 the Northern Geotechnical Group met in Newcastle for the presentation by Geoff Card of ‘Ground Gas – past, present and future’.
Geoff Card presented on how and why the Gas Screening Value criteria for assessing ground gas regimes and the scope of gas protection methods has evolved the way it has, the advantages, disadvantages and limitations.
Successful Ground Gas event in Newcastle
Geoff also talked about current guidance (CIRIA and BS8485) and a possible rationalisation of the Gas Screening Values which are now some 20 years old since they were first published.
A very successful evening and many thanks to Andrew Richmond, from Arup, for organising.
