Gas Ground Assessment Down Under
In March 2019 GB Card and Partners Managing Director Dr Geoff Card toured New Zealand and Australia delivering workshops on Essential Updates on Ground Gas Assessment.
It is twenty years since the seminal paper on Reliability and Risk in Gas Protection Design was published. The approach it suggested still underpins the guidance in the latest British Standard on designing gas protection measures. However, since that time, ground gas assessment has been continually evolving around the world.
These workshops will focus on new information and approaches that can help provide a pragmatic approach to ground gas risk assessment. As well as the workshops evening networking sessions provide attendees the opportunity to dig deep with Steve and Geoff about ground gas assessment. The tour began on Thursday 21st March in Auckland followed by workshops in Brisbane, Newcastle and Melbourne. These workshops were hosted by ALGA – Australasian Land and Groundwater Association. Quotes from those who attended,
Mark and I were lucky enough to attend the industry training event, Essential Updates on Ground Gas Assessment, presented by Steve Wilson and Geoff Card. Steve and Geoff imparted some invaluable knowledge that we will be applying in future hashtag#contaminatedland audits and consulting projects. Biggest take-home message, never underestimate the importance of your conceptual site model (CSM) – “If you can’t draw it, you don’t understand it”. Thanks Geoff, Steve and ALGA for a great event! hashtag#Landfillgas hashtag#easterlypointenvironmental hashtag#ALGA
Hi Geoff, It was great to meet you in Brisbane on Monday. Thanks for such a great presentation, it was honestly one of the best training events I have been to. Hopefully we will get to see you out here again soon.
