CIRIA Modular Buildings and Ground Gases Event
2pm to 4pm Wednesday 20 April 2021, via Zoom
Modular building is widespread within the residential, retail, health care and education sectors and is becoming more common. Publications including CIRIA 665 and BS 8485 provide ground gas guidance for new builds, but there is currently no specific information relating to modular buildings, providing a challenge to those utilising this method of construction on sites affected by ground gas.
GB Card and Partners’ Managing Director, Dr Geoffrey Card, will be presenting at the above event, discussing the challenges posed whilst assessing the requirements for gas protection measures in modular buildings, as well as installation procedures and the verification process. Dr Geoffrey Card will also be joined by Andrew Jackson (NHBC) and Anthony Goode (Visqueen).
The presentations will be followed by discussions on risk assessment and what is needed to improve practice.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Joanne Kwan at CIRIA (joanne.kwan@ciria.org) for further details.
